This Privacy Policy explains how Pixora ("Pixora," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Pixora is a stock media marketplace where buyers can license photos, vectors, videos, and audio, and contributors can upload and sell their media.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Profile information you choose to add (username, bio, profile photo)
Content You Upload
- If you are a contributor: photos, vectors, videos, audio files, and associated metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, licensing terms) you upload for sale
- If you are a buyer: your purchase history, downloaded files, and license records
Payment Information
- We use Stripe to process payments and subscriptions. Pixora does not directly store your full credit card number.
- Stripe may collect and process billing details, card information, and transaction history on our behalf. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
- For contributors, we collect payout information (such as bank account or connected payment account details) necessary to pay earnings, processed via Stripe.
Usage and Device Information
- IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and operating system
- Pages visited, search queries, downloads, and interactions with the Service
- Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and analyze usage
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including account access, uploads, purchases, and downloads
- To process payments, subscriptions (such as the Pixora Pro Tier), and contributor payouts
- To communicate with you about your account, orders, or support requests
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
- To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized usage analysis
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting for contributor earnings where required
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: including Stripe (payments and payouts), hosting providers, and analytics tools
- Other users: when you purchase a license, the contributor may see limited transaction details necessary to fulfill the sale; contributor display names and portfolios are publicly visible by design
- Legal requirements: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pixora, our users, or the public
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users where required
4. Data Retention
We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Uploaded content remains available while your contributor account is active or until you request removal, subject to existing license agreements already sold.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your account settings
- You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request deletion, by contacting us
- You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) or CCPA (California)
6. Children's Privacy
Pixora is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted payment processing through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Users
Pixora may process and store information in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
